Heritage Mum Plants
Often called "Heirloom" or "Football" mums, these rare chrysanthemum varieties have been preserved by a few small growers across the country. Harmony Harvest Farm is one of them. With over 250 varieties in our collection, we release a handpicked selection each year to garden centers and on our webstore.
Heritage mums can be tender perennials returning year after year if they’re planted in the correct zone at the right time. Smaller plants, like cell packs should be planted after first frost and where larger plants such as quart or gallon pots can be planted in the fall at least six weeks before a killing frost. Note that planting in the fall means the plants will use their first year to establish and may not be as bountiful until the following season.
