Every fall, when the air turns crisp and the colors deepen, the real show starts to show up at Harmony Harvest Farm— it’s mum season. And while our fields glow with rows of heirloom chrysanthemums, we also open our digital doors for one of our most beloved events of the year: the Annual Virtual Mum Summit.
This November, we’re inviting flower lovers, growers, and designers from all over to join us for a deep, joyful dive into everything chrysanthemums, from the soil to the vase and everything in between.

At the Mum Summit, we’ll be sharing the full scope of how we grow our prized heirloom mums here at the farm. You’ll learn how we propagate our plants, how we manage them through the seasons (including growing under tunnels for those late-season blooms), and what it takes to harvest and overwinter these treasures so they return even better the next year. It’s real-life, practical advice from our team that you can take home and apply in your own garden or flower operation.

But we’re not just sharing our story, we’re bringing in friends from across the flower world to share theirs, too.
We’re thrilled to welcome Sunny Meadows Flower Farm, who will walk us through how they grow mums in their unique climate and conditions. Seeing how other growers adapt and thrive with these blooms always inspires us, and we know it’ll inspire you too.
And because chrysanthemums aren’t just about growing, but also about creating beauty, we’ll also be showcasing design demonstrations from talented florists. You’ll hear what florists look for when working with mums, how they handle and design with them, and why these flowers are having such a big moment in the design world right now.

And of course, we’ll be returning Longwood Gardens for a virtual field trip .Last year we learned a lot from their bonsai exhibit, and we can’t wait to return to see their Annual Chrysanthemum Exhibit. Even from a distance, it’s a breathtaking experience that reminds us all why we fell in love with mums in the first place.
There’s so much to explore in the world of chrysanthemums and this event brings it all together in one inspiring, educational, and flower-filled place.
If you love mums (or are just starting to get curious), we hope you’ll join us this November for the Virtual Mum Summit. It’s a celebration of these extraordinary blooms, from growing them, to loving them, to designing with them, and we’d love to have you be a part of it.

Mark your calendars, spread the word, and get ready to fall in love with mums all over again.
