The Crop Report | Spring Season Activities

We are marching right on through March! The farm is really greening up and it feels so good to see the ranunculus on the verge of exploding in bloom and the Lisianthus all tucked into rows.

We’ve been working hard to enhance the on-farm experience this year from designing signage to beefing up the victory garden and some new fun surprises along the way! Make sure to come visit this year and see all our newest improvements. If you really want to make me feel good about all our latest sweat-equity in the victory garden snag a PYO subscription and come enjoy it this summer, our crew sure would love it if you did!

We still have lots of work to do with an Easter Table Flowers arrangement workshop and The Great Mum Hunt coming up. We want to make sure all our big projects are checked off so we can proudly show the hard work we all put in over the winter to prepare for this season.  It’s looking to be one beautiful year!

Our new mum growing location, down the road from the farm, has been getting set up for the chrysanthemum propagations to be moved in from Evergrowin. All of the HHF team has been helping to create a floor plan for all the plants and create a shipping station for when the mums are ready to go to their forever homes next month.

There’s been a lot of new systems to learn in this impressively large structure with automatic ridge vents and roll-up sides. It’s been a fun experience and I’m so grateful for wonderful neighbors who believe in helping us grow The Mum Project dream.

In addition to the mums, we also have a bazillion spring baby plants due to arrive next week so preparing space, checking extended forecasts, and preparing for our next big spring push has everyone’s focus this week.

XOXO, Jess
