This week on the farm has been a whole vibe. Our amazing farm team all took their well-deserved summer vacations, so I traded my sales desk for clippers and a harvest bucket and dove headfirst into the fields.

I took on the full weekly harvest, which, if you’ve never hauled armloads of blooms in 90° July heat while explaining the difference between a zinnia and a celosia to new harvesters, well, let's just say it’s a cardio workout with a floral twist. I also trained some fresh hands on how we harvest here at HHF: with care, intention, and a sharp eye for what’s peak-perfect. It’s a lot of heart, and a lot of sweat. And honestly? I kind of loved it. (P.S. Meet our newest member, Sarah!)

Big news: This week I made a decision that I’ve never made before. We’re opening our lisianthus fields to pick-your-own for the very first time!

If you’ve followed along, you know our lisianthus crop is usually reserved exclusively for our wholesale and shipped bouquet customers. But this year she’s thriving. Overflowing. Blooming with abandon. And it felt like the perfect time to let everyone in on the magic.
You can now come out and cut your own lisianthus straight from the field and if you’ve never seen them in person, trust me: they’re a showstopper. Elegant, ruffled, and standing tall in every pastel hue you could dream up.
And just in time, too, because this Saturday is our monthly on-farm workshop, and let me tell you, the fields are bursting with blooms. It’s the perfect moment to come play with flowers, hang with some lovely folks, and design something beautiful with the best of the season.
Tickets are still available (but not for long), so if you’ve been needing some creative time and want to get your hands on some of this floral goodness, grab a spot! It’s fun, relaxed, and always filled with laughter and color.
The farm is always a beautiful place to be, but right now it’s pure magic. Hope to see you out here soon.
XOXO, Jess
