The Crop Report

Gardeners are easy to shop for.

Gardeners are easy to shop for.

It’s that time of year again when we’re all trying to finish up our lists, remember who we still need to buy for, and keep the cocoa from sloshing while we wrap gifts. And if you’ve got a gardener on your list, a new homeowner, or someone who’s been hinting they want to try something new next year… I’ve got a simple little idea straight from the farm.

Our chrysanthemum preorders are open, and I’ll be honest—they’re one of my favorite things we offer. They aren’t just plants. They’re a project. A season-long companion. Something to look after and learn from. And they make a pretty special gift.

Think of it as giving someone something that grows right along with them. Not another thing to tuck on a shelf, but something that wakes up with the spring, stretches in the summer, and shows off when the days get cooler. It’s a gift that sticks around long after the tree’s been taken down.

We’ve got some really lovely varieties this year. If you’re not sure where to start, our collections make it easy. The Autumn Color Collection is great for anyone who loves those warm, cozy fall tones. And if you’re gifting someone who likes to plan (you know the type), the Early, Mid, and Late Bloom collections give them a whole season of blooms to look forward to.

If you’re shopping for a seasoned plant lover, you can pick out straight varieties and build them their own mix. We’ve got favorites like Helen Mae and Kokka Bummi, along with lots of other personality-filled mums that tend to turn people into full-blown flower folks before they realize it.

And the best part? They won’t be growing alone. Every preorder comes with our community—our growers, our support, and a whole bunch of people who are just as mum-obsessed as we are. It’s a gift that comes with guidance and cheerleading along the way.

So while you’re finishing up your holiday list, you might think about giving something a little different this year. Something green. Something they can care for. Something that lets them feel a bit more connected to the soil, whether they’ve been gardening for years or have never grown a thing.

Let them find their green thumb (or finally admit they had one all along). Let them join us out here, in our little world on the farm. Let them grow something beautiful. A chrysanthemum preorder makes a gift that lasts well past the holidays and carries a bit of hope and color into the year ahead.
