t’s the coldest day of the year, and I’ll admit, I’m feeling a bit whiny about it. The cold is making it tough to feel connected, and I’m not afraid to say it. But the best distraction I’ve found is curling up with my seed catalogs and planning my 2025 garden. There’s something so peaceful about making plans for something I can actually achieve. How about you? Are there any roadblocks you're hitting along the way during this chilly season?

I heard a story this week that really stuck with me, and I just have to share it. A close friend and mentor was telling me about his early days when he first immigrated to the U.S. He was getting to know his classmates at college, and at the end of the first class, one of them said, “Have a good one” as they parted ways. That simple phrase lingered in his mind for weeks. What exactly does it mean to have a “good one”?
It turned into an epiphany for him: in life, we all need “good ones” around us—good mentors, good companions, a good life partner. And that simple send-off turned into a reminder of how important relationships are. It made that goodbye feel much more meaningful. It got me thinking about the “good ones” I have in my life, and let me tell you, I’m fortunate to have many!
So I turned it around and asked myself: How can I be a “good one” to someone else?
That’s how the idea for Flower Therapy came about. This Friday, I invite you to join our very first session—a place where we can relax, chat about our gardening challenges, celebrate each other’s wins, and simply be part of a community that shares a common love for the garden. It’s my way of being a “good one” for all of you—creating a safe space where we can grow together in both our gardens and our lives.
