Happy New Year! 2026 has already been packed full of planning, dreaming, and all of our behind-the-scenes is already taking shape. The energy feels good, and the momentum is real.

One of the earliest signs that the season is waking up is the fact that tulips are already shipping out the door. Watching bouquets leave the farm this early never gets old. It’s a reminder that the growing season doesn’t wait, and that the work we put in months ago is already paying off. Seeing those early flowers head out into the world brings a lot of joy to the whole team.

There’s also been an exciting shift within our team this year. You might remember Sam from running production at Floral Genius. Well, he’s officially joined Steph and me on the sales side for both companies. I jokingly like to say I stole him from my sister, but in truth, we’re just incredibly lucky to have him. Sam is stepping into the role of our sales lead, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. He brings so much to the table, and I know you’re all going to enjoy working with him just as much as we do.

While we’ve been mapping out strategies and plans for the year, the farm itself has been in constant motion. Construction crews are hard at work upgrading Tunnel 5 into a fully heated greenhouse. This means double-wall plastic, heaters, and electric. It’s an essential upgrade as we prepare for spring expansion and a whole wave of young plants that will soon need a warm, protected home. This greenhouse is a big step forward for us and will play a key role in everything we grow this year.

Amid all of that, I packed up my sister and Rooty and headed to Baltimore for MANTS, the Mid-Atlantic Nursery Trade Show. It’s one of the largest industry shows on the East Coast, and we’re proud to be representing heirloom chrysanthemums there for the second year in a row. Sharing these plants with garden centers, landscapers, and arboretums across the country (and helping more people discover their beauty and history) will always be right up my alley.

And the travel doesn’t stop there. Next week I’ll be heading to the ASCFG Conference in Albuquerque to spend time with fellow cut flower farmers. It’s always a highlight, filled with learning, connection, and inspiration. I can’t wait to soak it all in and bring those ideas back to the farm.

It’s been a busy and energizing start to the year, and it feels like we’re really setting the tone for our year ahead.
