Making Time for What Matters

Making Time for What Matters

We are all busy checking off our to-do tasks left and right this week. Finishing up rounds of planting and weeding, preparing for our big mum planting, scheduling our fall marketing tasks, and ordering supplies for shipping and fulfillment.

Our community benefit committee met this week. I can’t wait to tell you more about that soon! But all our hard work is easy to see when you stroll around the farm. Heck, I’ve never been prouder of the bounty of the gardens and the state of the grounds! We've even been enjoying having folks out to participate in the Augusta County Farm Passport program, which we are proud to be a part of this year! It’s been fun to see so many beautiful cups leaving the farm!

With so much getting accomplished, I’m going to go ahead and take off Friday for a fun family day and surprise the kids with a fun trip to Kings Dominion for some roller coaster action as a family. The kids are getting older, and we have hit a sweet spot where family trips are more enjoyable than a pre-planning pain. So we want to capitalize on these moments and spend quality time together. My team can handle it, and the business side can wait. Family first always.

This weekend is Father’s Day, don’t forget! Dads should get flowers too! Come pick him a cup, or better yet, go the extra mile and bring dad along out to the farm for some real bonding time in nature and enjoy the gardens together, that’s what they are for!

P.S. If you want to top it off with a little Mexican meal, our local Mi Rancho can’t be beat for quality, authentic cuisine, and is super close to the farm! It’s a guilty pleasure of all the men in my house!

XOXO, Jess
