Is that the ranunculus?!
Jessica Hall
March is flying by, y'all. It’s going by so fast I'm barely hanging on, but that means warmer days are closing in and dotting the weekly forecast more regularly. We took the wiggle wire out of the sides of the high tunnels and greenhouses this week to let some extra fresh air into the spaces, and man, did the crops enjoy it!
We have been monitoring our temperatures in the houses, tracking the maximum swings each week and the minimum dips. It’s been surprising to see how warm and toasty those houses can get on our warm sunny days. Monitoring the houses has been a welcome distraction for me as I prepare to see my oldest officially get her license and drive off solo for the first time this week. How do you other parents do it? I'm a wreck! A total ball of emotions, thinking about all that could go wrong. I know I have to let her go and that it's just a part of growing up, but this is harder than I thought it would be, so having the first taste of spring and the flowers coming on has *really* been helping.

As Addie gains her newfound freedom, I'm finding my quiet joy opening the greenhouses, and you wouldn’t believe just how far along the ranunculus crop has come with these random temps in the 80s. These sweet little darlings aren't going to let the abundant anenome crop outdo them this year! I'm really excited to debut the Ranunculus bouquet for prebook as it’s one of my favorite bouquets of the spring! This bouquet is filled with magical pops of color that bloom before your eyes as they unfurl and awaken in the vase. Watching them open inside is quite a sight to see. They literally grow up right before your eyes, just like kids awaiting a license, but without the request for a car.

P.S. Here is Addie proudly showing off her first car. Let's hope it keeps her safe and teaches her lots. (yes, she picked out her own license plate...kids these days).
