HARMONY HARVEST FARM WINS $15K IN FEDEX SMALL BUSINESS GRANT CONTEST
WEYERS CAVE, VIRGINIA -- Cut flower farm, Harmony Harvest Farm, has been selected as a $15,000 winner of the Ninth Annual 2021 FedEx Small Business Grant Contest. With over 8,300 entries, Harmony Harvest Farm was one of 12 companies chosen to receive a grant nationwide, and is the only grant recipient chosen from the state of Virginia in the 2021 contest.
“We are over the moon to be recognized by FedEx,” says co-owner Jessica Hall “This isn’t just a win for us, this is a win for every flower farmer in the United States. With over 80% of the flowers in the US imported from other countries, this recognition from FedEx is a much-needed spotlight for our industry,” she adds.
The farm will use the grant money to convert one of their high tunnel growing houses into a heated greenhouse. “Our goal is to be able to have beautiful American-grown flowers available year-round,” explains co-owner, Chris Auville. “The FedEx Grant will allow us to grow our business, spread awareness of American agriculture, and continue to share the joy that flowers bring 365 days a year."
